Crane Operators Rodeo

In conjunction with the Crane and Rigging Conference, a Crane Rodeo event at the show promotes education and safety at the same time as providing a hands-on operational experience. Show attendees can test their skills on mobile crane simulators and a Liebherr truck crane, and top score winners receive trophies. AEM Construction Challenge presented by Volvo Construction Equipment

Watch the final high school teams go head-to-head in two challenges as they compete to solve infrastructure problems with construction solutions. The competition takes place in the Grand Lobby at AEM's booth L-3221, and just outside the Central Hall 2. More information.

Green Roads Summit

CONEXPO-CON/AGG has joined with the U.S. Federal Highway Administration, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Associated General Contractors of America, and the Construction Materials Recycling Association to provide the construction industry with an inside viewpoint on the future of the green roads programs. 5K Run/Walk

On March 23, 2011, Maximum Capacity Media will host a 5K Run/Walk at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2011 exposition being held in Las Vegas, Nev. Established in 2008, the 5k Run/Walk will benefit the AEM Education Foundation. AEM Education Foundation is an initiative designed to inspire young people to explore careers in the construction industry. More information.

The winner in the men's division was Robert Giles, Marketing Manager at Doosan Infracore. The winner in the female division Amy Schwandt, Publisher at Cygnus Business Media. The globetrotter award, which recognizes the participant who travelled the furthest, was Kieron Thompson of New Holland who is from Hazelbrook, NSW, Australia.

New Lift Safety Zone (LSZ)

Anyone working with and around aerials or cranes should visit the Lift Safety Zone in Silver Lot 4 for expert advice on safe set up and operation. Safety is our, and your priority, and one of the critical areas is ensuring adequate ground support for the machine and load carried. Come and see dynamic demonstrations that will show you how to cope with difficult ground conditions for cranes or aerials.

Expert representatives from the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO), the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), and the Crane Certification Association of America (CCAA), will be on hand to answer any of your questions with the help of live machinery demonstrations and the latest in simulator technology.
